Stools

Measure the work-surface height and compare it with the stool's seat height or adjustment range. Allow comfortable leg clearance and check that the user has suitable foot support.

Task stools are generally selected for working at higher surfaces, while cafe stools serve counter or bar seating. Adjustment, back support and base options depend on the model.

Wobble stools offer a movement-based seating option, but they do not replace every type of chair. Match them to the activity, student needs and manufacturer guidance, with other seating choices available.

Users should have a suitable way to support their feet when seated at a higher surface. Check whether the model includes a foot ring or other support and whether it fits the intended users.

Some models are stackable; others are not. Verify the permitted stack height and storage method for the exact stool, especially when comparing swivel, active or upholstered versions.
